MERIL and Community Action Partnership of Greater St. Joseph are collaborating to offer“Step Up To Leadership”

“Step Up To Leadership” is designed for:People who want to take on the challenge of leadership.People with a passion, who want to make a difference in their communities.People who are willing to assume the responsibilities of board membership.People who want to feel more competent, knowledgeable and effective in a board setting.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTIONParticipants will be selected based on their desire to become a more effective leader and their willingness to commit to attending all class sessions.. Efforts will be made to strive for a diverse class composition from the following counties: Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton, and DeKalb.

TIME COMMITMENT AND CLASS MEETING DATES FOR 2012Classes will meet weekly beginning on February 13, 2012. All classes will be held on Monday evenings through May 7th, with the exception of Monday, February 20th which is a holiday. Classes will be held at MERIL’s office in St. Joseph, 4420 S. 40th Street. Graduation will be held the evening of May 7th.Classes begin at 5:30 pm and will adjourn by 8:30 pm. A light meal will be served at each meeting.A. Tuition – tuition is free to committed participants.B. Stipend – a stipend of $20.00 is available for each meeting attended to help income eligible participants with childcare and transportation expenses.C. Attendance - Attendance at all sessions is required!**Completed applications must be delivered or postmarked by February 8, 2012 to CAP, 817 Monterey, St. Joseph, MO 64503.
