Another more pleasant temperature day across the region with highs in the mid 80s. Thunderstorms are possible overnight, after midnight, across portions of northeastern Kansas and northern Missouri. No severe storms are expected. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 96. South southeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
